Early Life and Path to Debut

Before he ever imagined a career as an idol, Wonbin was a dedicated track and field athlete in Ulsan and even trained in taekwondo. His life changed when SM Entertainment scouted him through an Instagram direct message. During his audition, he sang Paul Kim’s “Green Light” and won over the company on the spot. What followed was four and a half years of training, during which he sharpened his dancing, singing, and stage skills before finally making his long-awaited debut.

Debut and Rise With RIIZE

On September 4, 2023, Wonbin officially debuted with RIIZE’s first single album, “Get A Guitar.” SM Entertainment introduced him as a member with excellent performance and guitar skills, and he quickly settled into his role as the group’s center. Since then, he has led RIIZE through a string of hit comebacks, including “Love 119,” “Siren,” “Impossible,” and the group’s first full-length album, Odyssey, released in 2025.
