Wonhee

Wonhee is a South Korean singer and the center and lead vocalist of the HYBE-affiliated girl group ILLIT, formed under BELIFT LAB. Born Lee Won-hee on June 26, 2007, in Busan, South Korea, she spent most of her childhood in Changwon before an unexpected street-casting encounter at Seoul’s Express Bus Terminal Station changed the course of her life.

Wonhee joined BELIFT LAB only a few weeks before filming began for the HYBE and BELIFT LAB survival show R U Next? in 2023, making her one of the least experienced trainees in the competition. Despite this, her natural vocal talent and warm, sweet stage presence carried her all the way to first place in the finale, and she was revealed as the very first member of what would become ILLIT.

ILLIT officially debuted on March 25, 2024, with the mini album SUPER REAL ME and its breakout lead single “Magnetic,” which turned Wonhee into an overnight sensation as the group’s center. Fans and fellow members affectionately call her the “Vocal Fairy” for her airy, emotive tone. Following her debut, she quickly branched out beyond music, becoming the face of Pocari Sweat, hosting the variety program My Neighbor Wonhee, and stepping into acting with a supporting role and solo OST, “The Look In Your Eyes,” for the SBS drama Spring of Youth.

Off stage, Wonhee is known for her athletic, cheerful personality — she once served as the head of her school’s sports department and enjoys soccer, basketball, swimming, and badminton. She balances her idol schedule with high school studies at Hanlim Multi Arts High School’s Practical Music Department, all while continuing to promote with ILLIT through releases like I’LL LIKE YOU, “Almond Chocolate,” bomb, and MAMIHLAPINATAPAI.
