Who Is Seowon of UNIS?

Seowon, born Lim Seowon on January 27, 2011, in Songpa-gu, Seoul, is the main vocalist and maknae of the eight-member K-pop girl group UNIS. Formed through the 2023–2024 SBS survival show “Universe Ticket,” UNIS brought together contestants from South Korea, Japan, and the Philippines, and Seowon stood out for her powerful vocals despite being the youngest member of the entire lineup.

Early Career Before UNIS

Long before “Universe Ticket,” Seowon was already a familiar face in Korean entertainment. In 2018, she competed on the reality competition “Music Love,” and in 2020 she appeared on the trot survival show “Miss Trot 2,” where her singing ability drew widespread attention. She later signed with Lean Branding and made her official solo debut on April 24, 2021, with the digital single “Shoulder Dance,” also building a following as a child model and YouTuber.

Universe Ticket and UNIS Debut

In July 2023, Seowon joined the cast of “Universe Ticket,” competing among dozens of contestants for a spot in a new multinational girl group. Her mature vocal tone and stage presence helped her secure 5th place in the finale, and she officially debuted with UNIS on March 27, 2024, as the group’s main vocalist and maknae, alongside the release of the mini album “We UNIS” and lead single “SUPERWOMAN.”

Life in UNIS

As UNIS’s youngest member, Seowon has continued to grow her range across the “Curious” and “Swicy” eras, contributing key vocal lines while also making variety appearances, including a run on “King of Masked Singer” in 2024. Fans know her by nicknames like “Princess Seowon” and “Lim-hamkki,” reflecting both her poised stage presence and her playful personality offstage.
