Born Lee Jin-sook on January 10, 1999, in Seoul, South Korea, Yeoreum later legally changed her name to Lee Yeo-reum — a fitting move, since “yeoreum” itself means “summer” in Korean. Raised by her grandparents, she trained privately under Starship Entertainment before officially becoming a trainee. On December 17, 2015, she was revealed as part of WJSN’s Joy Unit, and she debuted with the full 12-member lineup on February 25, 2016, with the mini album Would You Like?

Role in WJSN

Within WJSN, Yeoreum serves as main dancer, sub-rapper, and sub-vocalist. She’s also part of WJSN’s first official sub-unit, WJSN CHOCOME (with Soobin, Luda, and Dayoung), which debuted in October 2020 with the single “Hmph!” Earlier in her career, she joined the Starship–Monsta X collaboration project Y-Teen in 2016.

Beyond WJSN: Survival Shows and EL7Z UP

In 2023, Yeoreum stepped into the spotlight solo, competing on Mnet’s survival program Queendom Puzzle.
