Chaeyeon

Jung Chae-yeon, known mononymously as Chaeyeon, is a South Korean actress and singer who first rose to fame as a member of the girl group DIA before becoming one of her generation’s most recognizable K-drama leads.

Born on December 1, 1997, in Suncheon, South Korea, Chaeyeon trained only briefly before debuting with DIA‘s original seven-member line-up in September 2015. Just months later, she paused her group activities to compete on the landmark survival show Produce 101, finishing 7th and earning a spot in the temporary project group I.O.I — for a stretch, she promoted with both groups at once, a rare feat that made her one of the busiest faces on Korean television at the time.
