Soobin (TXT): The Steady Leader Guiding Tomorrow X Together

Soobin is the officially confirmed leader of Tomorrow X Together (TXT), and if you’ve followed the group from debut, you already know he’s the calm center that holds everything together. Born Choi Soo-bin on December 5, 2000, in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do, Soobin stands out immediately at 186 cm — for years he was the tallest idol under BigHit/HYBE Labels. But his height is really just the first thing you notice; his gentle, dimpled smile earned him nicknames like “Shy Flower Boy” and “Flower Prince” almost as soon as TXT debuted.

Soobin was the second TXT member revealed to fans, introduced on January 13, 2019, just ahead of the group’s official debut on March 4, 2019, with The Dream Chapter: STAR. Of all five members, he’s the only one with an officially confirmed position: Leader, a title BigHit Music announced before the group even performed publicly. It’s a responsibility he’s grown into visibly over the years, guiding TXT through five distinct album eras and countless comebacks.

A Quiet, Thoughtful Personality

Away from the stage, Soobin comes across as introspective and a little bookish — he says he reads a lot of “life-helping” books and considers himself shy around new people. Bandmate Yeonjun has joked that Soobin is “in charge of power” in the group, a nod to his understated strength as its anchor. He completed his education through Global Cyber University after passing the Korean high school equivalency exam, balancing study with a demanding idol schedule.

Leading Through Every Era

Since debut, Soobin has led TXT through acclaimed releases including The Chaos Chapter series, Minisode mini albums, and the chart-topping The Name Chapter and The Star Chapter eras — the latter of which delivered TXT’s first-ever US Billboard 200 No. 1 with The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION. He also modeled for W Korea alongside Yeonjun in a widely shared 2023 spring editorial. When TXT paused activities in December 2024 for a well-earned break, Soobin returned with the group in May 2025 to promote The Star Chapter: TOGETHER, their fourth full-length album.
