ADYA

ADYA (에이디야) was a five-member South Korean girl group formed by Starting House Entertainment, a small label founded by producer Lim Yeong-eun, previously known for his work with 4Minute, PENTAGON, and (G)I-DLE. The group’s pre-debut trainee unit was called Starting Girls, and the members were revealed one by one between March 18 and March 24, 2023: Seungchae and Chaeeun first, followed by Sena, Yeonsu, and finally Seowon.

ADYA officially debuted on May 9, 2023, with their self-titled single album ADYA, led by the trap-influenced title track “Per,” short for “Perfect.” Their name is a blend of “AD” from “Adventure” and “YA,” meaning “departure” in Spanish, reflecting the group’s concept of setting out on their own unique journey. The group made their official stage debut on Mnet’s M Countdown on May 11, 2023, and appeared on Arirang TV’s Simply K-Pop that same month.

The group’s fandom is officially called ADAY (에이데이), announced via their fan cafe on May 10, 2023. ADYA promoted steadily through 2023 with music programs, festivals, and radio appearances, and returned in August 2023 with the digital single “왜 불러 (What’s Up?).” After roughly a year without new music, they surprised fans with the digital single “RIZZ” on August 26, 2024.

In January 2025, member Sena faced anonymous allegations of school violence, which she publicly denied on the fan communication app Fromm. Around the same time, it emerged that Starting House Entertainment had been quietly struggling with severe financial difficulties. Following the resolution of the controversy in February 2025, ADYA went silent on all official channels, and it was later confirmed that Starting House Entertainment had shut down its operations, effectively – though never formally — dissolving the group in early 2025. The members subsequently pursued independent paths; member Chaeeun later appeared as a contestant on the survival competition show Unpretty Rapstar: HIP POP Princess in late 2025.
