Hyotae (효태)

Kim Hyotae was born on June 22, 2004, in Bupyeong-gu, Incheon, South Korea. Before becoming a trainee, he attended IB Music Academy, where he sharpened the vocal skills that fans now associate with his “Honey Voice” nickname.

Hyotae’s first major public exposure came through the survival reality show Universe League, a competition format that brought together international and Korean trainees. He competed there as a contestant and was eliminated in episode 8, but his time on the show is widely credited with giving him visibility before he joined an agency lineup. During the show, contestants performed group tracks like “We Ready” (2024) and “My My My” / “ON & ON” (2025) under the Universe League banner.

After the show, Hyotae signed with FC ENM, the entertainment company behind the label mate group ILY:1. On September 30, 2025, FC ENM began revealing the members of their very first boy group project, ADAP, which stands for “All Dreams Are Possible.” Five members were unveiled first, and on November 5, 2025, Hyotae was officially announced as the sixth and final member, completing the lineup.

Within the group, Hyotae has taken on the affectionate role of caretaker — he’s described as someone who represents fragrance, confidence, and liveliness in ADAP’s group concept. He’s known among the members for habits like preparing food for everyone right after waking up, and he has a playful, competitive streak: telling him “you can’t do that” tends to make him want to prove otherwise.

As of early 2026, ADAP has been promoting in Japan as part of their pre-debut activities, including a fan meeting titled “Dreams Are Possible,” ahead of their planned official debut sometime in 2026.
