Yoonseok

Jang Yoonseok was born on April 2, 2007, in Dongan-gu, Anyang-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. He attended Flowing K-POP Idol Academy before pursuing a career as an idol. Unlike his five future groupmates — most of whom carry years of trainee history, survival-show appearances, or time in disbanded pre-debut groups — Yoonseok came into ODDWAVE with a completely clean slate, no agency stints, no broadcast appearances, nothing.

His path into DAILY:DIRECTION started in September 2025, when he passed the audition for 3Y Corporation. Not long after, his contract — along with the rest of the eventual lineup — was transferred to ODDWAVE, the brand-new creative label founded by Park So-hee, a respected creative director whose past work touches aespa, LE SSERAFIM, Stray Kids, and ZEROBASEONE.

On January 19, 2026, ODDWAVE kicked off a sequential “one member a day” reveal campaign, and Yoonseok had the honor of going first, representing Monday. His reveal showed off a playful, mischievous, approachable image that fans responded to immediately — and that warmth has basically become his signature trait inside the group.

DAILY:DIRECTION officially debuted on February 23, 2026, with the single album FIRST:DELIVERY, led by the Afro Core-inspired title track “ROOMBADOOMBA” alongside the softer b-side “SELF.” As the group’s maknae and a sub-vocalist, Yoonseok has settled into the role of the group’s resident “angel,” bringing lightness and humor to balance out his more seasoned, industry-tested groupmates. He’s already named winning a Rookie Award as a personal goal for the group’s first year.
