2Z (투지), also known as TuZi, is a South Korean K-Band - a rare breed of K-pop act where every member plays a live instrument instead of relying on a backing track. Debuting on January 14, 2020 under GOGO2020 and UZUROCKS Entertainment with the EP "We Tuzi:", the group built its identity around pop rock, synth-pop, and hands-on musicianship, with several members transitioning from fashion modeling into a year of intensive instrumental training before debut.

Biography & History

2Z (Hangul: 투지, also styled TuZi) is a South Korean K-Band – a self-playing idol band rather than a typical dance-focused group – under GOGO2020 and UZUROCKS Entertainment. The group debuted on January 14, 2020 with the EP We Tuzi: and the lead single “My 1st Hero,” introducing a lineup built from members who trained as live instrumentalists rather than dancers.

What makes 2Z stand out in the K-pop and K-rock scene is simple: every member actually plays an instrument on stage. Before debut, several members worked as fashion models, and the group leaned into that high-fashion, pop-rock image while spending roughly a year learning drums, bass, guitar, and keys from scratch. That “band, not backing track” identity became their calling card, earning comparisons to K-band pioneers like FT Island and Buzz.

The group’s history has seen real change. Founding rapper Hyun Woong left in June 2020 and was replaced by Zunon just weeks later. Their debut-era lineup pushed out two EPs in four months (We Tuzi: and Nostrum) before dropping their first studio album, ACT1, in 2021 – home to fan favorites like “O@SIS” and “STUPID.” A second studio album, Reworks, followed in 2022 alongside a steady run of OST placements for Korean dramas such as The Tasty Florida and Kissable Lips.

2026 finds 2Z nine EPs and six digital singles deep into their catalog, having weathered more lineup shifts – guitarist Ji Seob’s 2024 departure for health reasons, a brief stint from guitarist NUVorn, and the September 2025 addition of current member Nua. The current five-member lineup is Bumjun (leader, drums), Junghyun (bass, rap), Hojin (main vocals), Zunon (keys/DJ), and Nua (guitar).

Their fandom, officially named From A, has helped the band pick up recognition including the K Band Global Rookie award at the 2021 K-Stage Awards. While 2Z hasn’t reached mainstream idol-group scale, they’ve built a loyal niche audience across Korea, Latin America, and Southeast Asia who specifically follow K-bands – acts that write, arrange, and physically perform their own music.

“We, TuZi! We may not play the biggest stages yet, but we'll fight our way there — together, until the very end.”
