Early Life and Child Acting Career

Born on January 26, 1998, in Seoul, South Korea, Chan began his entertainment career remarkably early, signing with Kids Planet Entertainment in 2005 and later Fantagio Entertainment in 2010. As a child actor, he appeared as the younger counterpart of TVXQ’s Max Changmin in the music video “Balloons,” and famously portrayed a young Lee Min-ho in the popular dramas Boys Over Flowers and The Heirs, as well as in The Great King Sejong.

Joining iKON

Chan joined YG Entertainment’s trainee program in 2014, notably the only member of iKON’s final lineup who was not originally part of “Team B” on the survival show WIN: Who Is Next.
