Doyeon

Doyeon (born Kim Do-yeon on December 4, 1999, in Wonju, Gangwon Province, South Korea) is a South Korean singer, dancer, and actress under Fantagio. She first captured the public’s attention in 2016 as a contestant on Mnet’s smash-hit survival show Produce 101, where she ranked in the top 11 and became a member of the record-breaking project girl group I.O.I, debuting on May 4, 2016 with the EP “Chrysalis.”

After I.O.I’s activities concluded in early 2017, Doyeon and fellow I.O.I member Choi Yoojung debuted together as members of Fantagio’s Weki Meki on August 8, 2017. Known for her elegant, technically precise dancing, Doyeon quickly became one of Weki Meki’s central performers, taking on the roles of Lead Dancer, Lead Vocalist, Visual, and Center across the group’s seven-year run. She also joined the temporary Starship–Fantagio collaboration unit WJMK alongside members of WJSN in 2018.

Beyond music, Doyeon steadily built a parallel acting career, appearing in web dramas such as “To Be Continued,” “Idol Fever,” and “Pop Out Boy!,” television series including “Short,” “My Roommate is a Gumiho,” and “Jirisan,” and making her big-screen debut in the 2024 film “18 Youth” alongside Jeon So-min.

Weki Meki officially disbanded on August 8, 2024, but Doyeon renewed her exclusive contract with Fantagio that November to continue pursuing acting and modeling. In January 2025, she made her musical theater debut playing the title role in “Anna X,” and in 2026 she starred in the film “Dora.” That same year, Doyeon reunited with eight fellow I.O.I members for the group’s much-anticipated 10th-anniversary comeback, “I.O.I: LOOP,” released on May 19, 2026 — marking her first idol group activity since Weki Meki’s disbandment.

Known to fans by nicknames like “Little Jun Ji-hyun” for her visual resemblance to the veteran actress, Doyeon remains one of the most recognizable graduates of the Produce 101 generation, admired for her dancing, her warmth on variety shows, and her growing versatility as an actress.
