Hendery (born Wong Kunhang, September 28, 1999) is a Macanese rapper, dancer, and vocalist under SM Entertainment, known globally as a member of the sprawling K-pop project group NCT and its Chinese-language sub-unit WayV. Born and raised in Macau, China, Hendery moved to Beijing in his teens with dreams of becoming a comedian before he was street-cast by an SM Entertainment scout while out shopping in 2016.
He trained for roughly two years despite having no prior background in singing or dancing, joining SM Rookies in July 2018. Hendery made his official debut on January 17, 2019, as part of WayV’s first release, the digital EP The Vision, where he quickly became known as the group’s lead rapper and lead dancer. He later expanded his activities into NCT U, contributing to project singles such as “Misfit” from NCT RESONANCE Pt. 1 in 2020.
