Hyunjae

Hyunjae (현재), born Lee Jae Hyun (이재현), is a South Korean K-pop idol best known as the lead vocalist, lead dancer, and visual of the ten-member boy group The Boyz. Born on September 13, 1997, in Incheon, South Korea, Hyunjae trained for years under Cre.Ker Entertainment before officially debuting with The Boyz on December 6, 2017, through the group’s first EP, The First.

Since debut, Hyunjae has become one of The Boyz’s most recognizable members, praised for his soft, airy vocal tone on fan-favorite tracks like “Spring Snow,” “Daydream,” and “Closer,” as well as his sharp, technical choreography as part of the group’s “Dance Bermuda” performance trio. He played a key role in The Boyz’s breakout victory on Mnet’s Road to Kingdom in 2020, a moment widely credited with elevating the group from rookies to one of K-pop’s most respected performance-driven acts.

Beyond music, Hyunjae has branched into acting, making his debut in the 2021 web drama I Can See Your MBTI, and into variety and digital content, hosting the Naver original show Hyunjae’s Present from 2022 to 2023. Known among members as one of the clingiest and most affectionate personalities in The Boyz, Hyunjae is also celebrated by fans, or THE B, for his playful humor, warm charisma, and dedication to self-improvement as both a performer and entertainer.

In 2026, along with the majority of his groupmates, Hyunjae won a court ruling ending his exclusive contract with ONE HUNDRED, allowing The Boyz to continue promoting as an independent K-pop group. Nearly a decade into his career, Hyunjae remains a driving force behind The Boyz’s evolving artistry, balancing vocals, dance, acting, and hosting work while staying closely connected with his global fanbase.
