Jennie (제니)

Jennie was born Kim Jennie on January 16, 1996, in Bundang, Seongnam, South Korea. As an only child, she attended Cheongdam Elementary School before moving abroad at age eight, living in Australia and New Zealand, where she studied at Waikowhai Intermediate School in Auckland. She trained under YG Entertainment for nearly six years before debuting.

Prior to her official debut, she gained recognition through early collaborations with G-Dragon (“That XX”) and features with Lee Hi and Seungri. On August 8, 2016, Jennie debuted with BLACKPINK through the single album Square One. In November 2018, she became the first member to debut solo with “SOLO,” a historic hit for female K-pop soloists.

In 2023, Jennie made her acting debut in HBO’s The Idol and founded her own label, ODD ATELIER, to manage her solo career, later signing with Columbia Records for global distribution. Her 2024 single “Mantra” and 2025 album Ruby (featuring “like JENNIE”) achieved major commercial success worldwide.
