Juhoon is a South Korean idol, singer, and songwriter who debuted as a member of the BIGHIT MUSIC boy group CORTIS on August 18, 2025. Known to fans as the group's calm and easygoing "chill member," Juhoon brings a unique mix of athletic background (soccer and basketball), former child-modeling experience, and songwriting talent to the group's self-producing "young creator crew" identity. He co-wrote several tracks on CORTIS's debut EP Color Outside the Lines and continued contributing to their second EP GreenGreen, making him one of the more musically hands-on members of this rising 5th-generation K-pop act.
Story

Biography

Juhoon, whose birth name is Kim Ju-hoon (김주훈), was born on January 3, 2008, in Seoul, South Korea. He grew up as an only child, and his family kept a pet turtle named Choco — a detail he has mentioned fondly in interviews and fan content. Long before he became a trainee, Juhoon already had a foot in the entertainment industry as a child model, appearing in fashion brand campaigns and in music videos for artists such as VIXX (“Scientist”), Zion.T (“Hello Tutorial”), and MeloMance (“Tale,” “You & I,” “Festival”).

His pre-debut life wasn’t only about cameras, though. Juhoon was a serious athlete growing up — he played competitive soccer seriously enough to train in Spain, and he was also part of a youth basketball team for the Samsung Thunders. Around third grade, he made the call to shift his focus toward academics while keeping soccer as a hobby, a decision he’s said he still feels a little wistful about. He attended Sangmyung University Teacher’s College Experimental Elementary School and Young Hoon International Middle School, and later passed the High School Graduation Equivalency Exam while training.

Juhoon joined BIGHIT MUSIC around 2023–2024 and trained for roughly a year and a half — making him the last member to join what would become CORTIS. His audition song was BTS V’s “Slow Dancing.” From April to May 2024, he and the other trainees attended a songwriting camp in Los Angeles, where the group built the foundation for their debut album.

On July 14, 2025, BigHit Music revealed Juhoon as one of the five members of its new boy group, later named CORTIS. The group released the pre-debut single “GO!” on August 11, 2025, and officially debuted on August 18, 2025, with “What You Want.” Juhoon co-wrote and composed several songs on the group’s first EP, Color Outside the Lines (released September 8, 2025), including “GO!”, “What You Want”, “FaSHioN”, and “JoyRide,” and he also helped shape the choreography for “GO!”

In 2026, Juhoon continued his songwriting role on CORTIS’s second EP, GreenGreen (released May 4, 2026), contributing to “TNT,” “REDRED,” “ACAI,” “YOUNGCREATORCREW,” and “Wassup.” Alongside the group’s rapid rise — including a headlining NBA All-Star Game performance and a sold-out world tour — Juhoon has become known among fans as the steady, low-key member who keeps the group’s day-to-day mood relaxed, frequently checking in on what his members want to eat and offering a grounded presence within CORTIS’s high-energy “color outside the lines” identity.
