Yushi

Yushi (유우시), born Tokuno Yushi (得能勇志), is a Japanese dancer, singer and rapper serving as the main dancer of NCT WISH, SM Entertainment’s Tokyo-based sub-unit of NCT. Born on April 5, 2004, Yushi’s path to K-pop stardom began remarkably early — he auditioned for SM Entertainment during the fourth grade of elementary school and officially became a trainee by sixth grade.

Before joining SM, Yushi briefly performed as part of the Japanese boy group Edamame Beans at age eleven, leaving shortly before its debut. He later relocated to Korea in his final year of elementary school and trained for roughly seven years, making him one of the most experienced trainees among his NCT WISH bandmates by the time of his debut.

Yushi and fellow trainee Sion were introduced together as SM Rookies in June 2023, ahead of both members competing on the survival program NCT Universe: LASTART. Yushi’s precise, powerful choreography and expressive stage presence made him a standout throughout the show, and he ultimately debuted with NCT WISH on February 21, 2024.

Beyond his dance skills, Yushi has drawn praise from SM seniors and producer BoA for his distinctive vocal tone, often taking song introductions during NCT WISH’s performances. He has promoted across every major NCT WISH release, including “Steady,” “Wishful,” “Poppop,” and “Color,” and continues to be recognized as one of the group’s visual standouts.
