Who Is Anna?

Born Tanaka Anna on November 17, 2005, in Imizu City, Toyama Prefecture, Japan, Anna later moved to Tokyo during elementary school. Long before joining THEBLACKLABEL, she was already a recognizable face in Japan: she began modeling around 2014, won the Grand Prize at the 5th Nico☆Petit Model Audition, and was later crowned Miss Seventeen 2019, becoming an exclusive model for the popular teen fashion magazine Seventeen Japan until December 2021. She also has acting credits in Japanese dramas, including “Koi no Yamai to Yarougumi” and “Blue SP: School Police.”

Anna’s path into K-pop began unexpectedly — she was scouted through an Instagram direct message and auditioned for THEBLACKLABEL in early 2023 with BLACKPINK’s “Lovesick Girls.” She was revealed as the fourth member of MEOVV on August 27, 2024, just weeks before the group’s debut.

Debut and Career with MEOVV

Anna officially debuted with MEOVV on September 6, 2024, with the digital single “MEOW,” alongside Ella, Gawon, Sooin, and Narin. Since then, she has promoted through “TOXIC,” “HANDS UP,” the debut EP My Eyes Open VVide, and — fittingly, given her roots — MEOVV’s first Japanese single, “ME ME ME,” released July 29, 2025. As the group’s only Japanese member, Anna plays a key role in bridging MEOVV’s identity across Korea, the U.S., and Japan.

Anna’s hobbies include visiting cosmetic shops, watching K-pop performances at home, and rope skipping — a special skill of hers.
