Their Story
RIIZE (라이즈) is a six-member South Korean boy group under SM Entertainment. Formed as SM’s first new boy group concept after NCT, RIIZE debuted on September 4, 2023 with the single album Get A Guitar. The group’s name is a portmanteau of “Rise” and “Realize,” reflecting the members’ shared journey of growth as artists who write their own story in real time — a concept SM has branded the group’s “Real-time Odyssey.”
RIIZE currently consists of Shotaro, Eunseok, Sungchan, Wonbin, Sohee, and Anton. Shotaro and Sungchan were previously active as members of NCT U before transitioning into RIIZE’s official lineup. A seventh member, Seunghan, was part of the group’s original debut lineup but went on indefinite hiatus in November 2023 following the circulation of controversial pre-debut personal photos and videos; he officially departed the group on October 13, 2024, and RIIZE has continued as a six-member act since.
The group made a rapid impact in South Korea, with debut single album Get A Guitar selling roughly one million copies in its first week — among the best debut-week sales of any rookie group at the time. RIIZE has followed with the single “Love 119,” the EP Riizing and its repackage Riizing: Epilogue, and their first full-length studio album, Odyssey, released in May 2025. The group made its Japanese debut in 2024 with the single “Lucky,” which topped Japan’s Oricon Singles Chart. In November 2025 RIIZE released the single album Fame, followed by their second EP, II, in June 2026.
RIIZE’s official fandom name is BRIIZE, and the group has quickly become one of SM Entertainment’s most visible rookie acts, securing high-profile brand ambassadorships with names like Louis Vuitton, Musinsa, and Fanta, alongside a growing catalog of emotionally driven “emotional pop” releases.
