A-na (에이나)

A-na, whose real name is Roh Yu-na, was born on December 20, 2008, in Suwon-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. She grew up with her parents and an older sister born in 2005. Sources differ slightly on her exact birthplace — some say Suwon, others say Seoul with a move to Yongin — but Suwon-si in Gyeonggi-do is the most consistently cited location across recent profiles.

A-na’s path to becoming an idol started early. She attended Seokhyeon Elementary School and later Heungdeok Middle School, which she left early to focus on training. To make up for leaving school early, she later took and passed both the Middle School and High School equivalency exams, showing she didn’t let her idol career get in the way of her education goals.

A-na joined SM Entertainment on October 16, 2022, one day after fellow member Ian, after passing an internal audition. Her very first audition song? The South Korean national anthem — a bold and memorable choice. She trained with the company for about three years, working on her vocals, dance, and overall stage presence before her big debut moment arrived.

That moment came on February 24, 2025, when A-na debuted as a member of Hearts2Hearts with the group’s first single album, The Chase. The eight-member lineup — Carmen, Jiwoo, Yuha, Stella, Juun, A-na, Ian, and Ye-on — quickly made waves, with SM Entertainment positioning the 5th-generation girl group as their first new girl group since aespa.

Just one month after debut, A-na’s profile grew even further. In March 2025, she was named an MC on MBC’s Show! Music Core, sharing hosting duties with ZEROBASEONE’s Gyuvin and TWS’s Dohoon — a rare honor for such a new idol, and a sign of how quickly she’s built recognition within the industry.

Within the group, A-na is known as one of the tallest members alongside Jiwoo, and she’s earned a reputation for being the most emotional member — she’s been described as the one who cries the easiest, whether she’s angry or simply moved by someone else crying. Leader Jiwoo has even said A-na is the hardest member to keep up with because of her boundless energy.

Outside the group, A-na is a big fan of the anime Detective Conan (her favorite character is Kaito Kid), loves spicy food even though she struggles to handle the heat, and keeps a close bond with her older sister — reportedly the first person she contacts every morning when she wakes up.
