D.O.

D.O., born Doh Kyung-soo, is a main vocalist of EXO and one of the rare K-pop idols to build an equally successful career as an actor. His warm baritone voice and calm, restrained screen presence have made him a standout across music, film, and television since his 2012 debut.

Born on January 12, 1993, in Seoul’s Gangnam District and raised in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, D.O. discovered his love of singing in primary school and went on to win a local singing competition that led him to SM Entertainment. He was introduced as EXO’s eighth member on January 30, 2012, debuting with the group that April through the mini album Mama.

D.O.’s acting career took off in 2014 with the film Cart and the hit drama It’s Okay, That’s Love, earning him a Best New Actor nomination. He went on to headline major box-office successes like Along with the Gods and Swing Kids, and was recognized by the Korean Film Council as one of 200 actors representing the future of Korean cinema.

He made his solo music debut in 2021 with the EP Empathy, which shot to number one in South Korea, followed by Expectation, Blossom, and his first full studio album, Bliss, in 2025. In late 2023, D.O. left SM Entertainment to focus on his personal acting and solo projects while remaining an active EXO member under SM.

Known for his tidy habits, love of cooking, and doe-eyed expressions, D.O. continues to balance his identity as one of EXO’s core vocalists with a flourishing, critically respected solo and acting career.
