Haechan, born Lee Dong-hyuck, is the main vocalist and lead dancer of the South Korean powerhouse group NCT, active through its fixed sub-units NCT 127 and NCT Dream. Born on June 6, 2000, in Seoul, he spent part of his childhood on Jeju Island before returning to the capital to train at the School of Performing Arts Seoul.
Haechan joined SM Entertainment in 2013 after passing the SM Saturday Open Audition, encouraged by his mother to give singing a real shot. After three years as a trainee, he debuted twice in the same year: first with NCT 127 on July 7, 2016, then with NCT Dream on August 24, 2016, making him one of the few NCT members active in two fixed units from day one.
