Who Is Sehun?

Sehun, born Oh Se-hun on April 12, 1994, in Seoul, South Korea, is the youngest member, or “maknae,” of EXO, serving as the group’s lead dancer, lead rapper, and one of its key visuals. Known for his sharp dance lines, tall model-like frame, and cool-but-caring personality, Sehun has grown from a shy 12-year-old street-cast trainee into one of K-pop’s most recognizable faces.

Discovered on the Street

Sehun’s story famously began when an SM Entertainment casting manager approached him while he was out with friends. Thinking it was a scam, he ran away, and it took about 30 minutes of persuasion before he agreed to audition. He officially became a trainee in 2008, training for roughly four years before debuting with EXO on April 8, 2012, as the group’s maknae.

Dancing, Rapping, and Beyond

As EXO’s lead dancer, Sehun’s clean, controlled choreography has made him a standout in the group’s performances. In July 2019, he debuted in the sub-unit EXO-SC alongside fellow member Chanyeol, releasing the mini albums “What a Life” and “1 Billion Views,” which let him show off his rap skills in a more personal, songwriting-driven format.

A Face Recognized Worldwide

Beyond music, Sehun has built a strong reputation in fashion and acting. He’s appeared in dramas like “Secret Queen Makers” and the web drama “EXO Next Door,” modeled for luxury brands including Louis Vuitton and Berluti, and even landed a solo cover of Vogue Korea. He ranked 15th on TC Candler’s “100 Most Handsome Faces” list in 2018, further boosting his global visibility.

The Caring Maknae

Despite his cool, chic image, members often describe Sehun as someone who quietly looks out for everyone around him. He completed his mandatory military service from December 2023 to September 2025 and has continued building his career with EXO and EXO-SC ever since.
