Story

Biography

Jang Wonyoung, known simply as Wonyoung, is a South Korean singer, model, and television host, currently promoting as the vocalist, dancer, and visual center of the girl group IVE under Starship Entertainment. Born on August 31, 2004, in Ichon-dong, Yongsan District, Seoul, she was street-cast by Starship Entertainment in 2017 while attending her older sister’s middle school graduation ceremony, and became a trainee at just twelve years old.

In 2018, Wonyoung competed on Mnet’s survival show Produce 48, ultimately finishing in first place with the most votes of any contestant. This victory made her the center of the resulting project group IZ*ONE, which debuted on October 29, 2018, with the mini album COLOR*IZ and its lead single “La Vie en Rose.” Over the next two and a half years, Wonyoung became one of the most recognizable faces of fourth-generation K-pop, promoting with IZ*ONE until the group’s contractually mandated disbandment on April 29, 2021.

Following IZ*ONE’s disbandment, Wonyoung returned to Starship Entertainment and, on December 1, 2021, re-debuted as a member of IVE alongside former groupmate An Yujin. The single album Eleven became an instant commercial success, and IVE quickly rose to become one of the defining girl groups of their generation, driven by hits like “LOVE DIVE,” “After LIKE,” “I AM,” and “REBEL HEART.”

Beyond music, Wonyoung has built one of the most extensive brand portfolios in K-pop, serving as an ambassador or muse for names including Miu Miu, Dior, Innisfree, SK Telecom, Fred Joaillier, Bvlgari, and many others, and she is regularly cited as one of the top influencers to emerge from Paris Fashion Week. She has also carved out a broadcasting career, hosting KBS’s Music Bank from 2021–2023 and serving as an MC for the Asia Artist Awards for multiple consecutive years, in addition to lending her voice as a lyricist on several IVE tracks.

The Fandom

Fan Club & Fan Name 💜

Official Fan Name
DIVE
IVE's official fandom name, revealed by the group on December 9, 2021, just over a week after their debut. "DIVE" plays on the group's own name and reflects their signature greeting, "DIVE into IVE," expressing the members' wish for fans to immerse themselves fully in the group's world and music.
Official Fan Color
Pearl White & Soft Pastel
IVE has not confirmed a single, official fandom color the way some groups have; instead, the group's branding leans on a clean pearl-white base accented with soft, shifting pastel tones (seen across album art and stage design), which carries over into the white-bodied official lightstick.
Official Light Stick
IHABONG (Official Light Stick)
Unveiled in January 2023 and first sold that February, IHABONG is a white-bodied lightstick topped with a glass-like orb that can cycle through multiple colors and lighting effects. Its name blends the Korean word for "here" with "bong" (stick), and it includes Bluetooth connectivity for synced fan-chant light shows during concerts. A Version 2 design was teased in October 2025.
