IVE (아이브) is one of the brightest names in fourth-generation K-pop, and if you’ve spent any time on music charts since 2021, you’ve probably already hummed along to one of their songs without even realizing it. Formed by Starship Entertainment, this six-member South Korean girl group made its debut on December 1, 2021 with the single album Eleven, and it didn’t take long for them to become one of the most talked-about K-pop girl groups of their generation.

So who’s actually in IVE? The lineup is made up of Yujin (the leader), Gaeul, Rei, Wonyoung, Liz, and Leeseo, the group’s maknae. Two of the members, Yujin and Wonyoung, aren’t complete newcomers to the spotlight either — both were former members of the project group IZ*ONE, which gave them a head start in building a fanbase before IVE even existed. That built-in experience shows: from day one, IVE carried themselves like seasoned performers rather than rookies.

The group’s name is short for “I Have,” and it reflects the concept behind IVE from the very start. Instead of the usual K-pop narrative where a group has to “grow” into confidence over several years, IVE decided to skip that step entirely. They wanted to present themselves as a complete, self-assured act right out of the gate — and songs like “Love Dive,” “After Like,” and “I Am” back that up with a mix of glamorous, self-loving lyrics and instantly catchy production.

Since their debut, IVE has built a genuinely impressive resume. Their first full-length album, I’ve IVE, along with EPs like I’ve Mine, Ive Switch, Ive Empathy, and Ive Secret, have consistently topped Korea’s Circle Album Chart. In 2026, they returned with their second studio album, Revive+, led by the double title tracks “Bang Bang” and “Blackhole.” Along the way, the group has picked up dozens of awards, including multiple daesang (grand prize) wins at shows like MAMA, Melon Music Awards, and Golden Disc Awards.

What really sets IVE apart from other 4th generation K-pop groups is how quickly they carved out an identity built on confidence and self-love rather than the typical coming-of-age storyline.
