Who Is Xinyu?

Xinyu (신위, born Zhou Xinyu, 周心语) is a Chinese K-pop idol and one of the standout tripleS members under MODHAUS. Known to fans as S15, she has grown from a former Girls Planet 999 contestant into the confident leader of the tripleS sub-unit Sun, celebrated for her striking visuals, warm vocals, and multilingual charm across Mandarin, Korean, and English.

Early Life and Trainee Journey

Born on May 25, 2002, in Beijing, China, Xinyu grew up with a passion for the performing arts long before she became a tripleS idol. She trained briefly at SM Entertainment as a teenager before eventually joining Yuehua Entertainment. Along the way, she also studied Contemporary Theater at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music, giving her a well-rounded artistic background that few idols can match.

Girls Planet 999 and the Road to tripleS

Xinyu first caught the attention of global K-pop fans on Mnet’s Girls Planet 999 in 2021, where she impressed audiences before being eliminated in the show’s third round. She kept honing her dance skills on the Chinese competition series Great Dance Crew, and in July 2023, she was finally revealed as the fifteenth member of tripleS, joining its LOVElution sub-unit.

tripleS Career and Sub-Units

Xinyu debuted with LOVElution‘s mini album MUHAN in August 2023, then joined the full 24-member tripleS lineup with ASSEMBLE24 in May 2024. Later that year she became part of the dance-focused sub-unit Visionary Vision, and in September 2025 she was voted leader of Sun, one of tripleS’s newest sub-units, going on to promote the single “Bubble Gum Girl.”

With her tall, model-like stature, easygoing ENTP personality, and reputation for taking good care of her members, Xinyu has become one of the most beloved faces representing tripleS’s international, multinational identity. Fans, known collectively as WAV, continue to root for her growth as both a performer and a leader within the ever-evolving tripleS universe.
