Ryul is the main rapper of LNGSHOT, the South Korean boy group formed under MORE VISION by Jay Park. Believed to be born Kim Ryul on September 18, 2006, Ryul stands out for his sharp delivery on the mic and a quirky, easygoing personality that makes him the group’s go-to mood maker.

Trainee Years and Path to Debut

Ryul’s road to LNGSHOT wasn’t short. He trained for roughly three years, attending KMC Music Academy and even passing an audition for KOZ Entertainment before landing with MORE VISION. He also competed on the rap competition show RAP:PUBLIC in 2024 and trained alongside Lee Junmyeong, a former B:MY BOYZ contestant who was also a MORE VISION trainee at the time. He’s a graduate of Hanlim Multi Art School.

Debut and Discography

Ryul officially debuted with LNGSHOT on January 13, 2026 through the EP SHOT CALLERS. His confirmed role as Main Rapper came through his self-written Melon Hi-Rising profile ahead of debut. Since then, he’s continued rapping across releases including the pre-debut mixtape 4SHOBOIZ MIXTAPE, the single “Saucin’,” the EP Training Day, and the collaborative mixtape 4shoboiz Vol. 2: 4shoville with Jay Park.

Personality and Fun Facts

Known by the nickname “Baby Hippo,” Ryul describes his own personality as quirky and is considered one of the more playful members of LNGSHOT — a trait he says grew even stronger from spending time with groupmate Woojin. He keeps a 12-year-old pet dog named Coco, loves pineapple, and enjoys studying fashion trends online. He’s also famous among fans for once eating around 30 plates of salmon with Ohyul at a buffet, an outing that ended with the pair being asked to leave.
