Dino
Biography
Who Is Dino of SEVENTEEN?
Dino, born Lee Chan, is the main dancer, sub vocalist, sub rapper, and maknae (youngest member) of the 13-member K-pop group SEVENTEEN, active under Pledis Entertainment and HYBE Labels. Despite being the group’s youngest, Dino is widely regarded as one of SEVENTEEN’s most technically gifted performers, earning the nickname “Future of K-Pop” for his precision, stage presence, and work ethic.
Early Life and Dance Beginnings
Born in Iksan, Jeollabuk-do, South Korea, Dino comes from a family of dancers — his father ran a dance academy and personally taught him to dance from the age of three or four. He competed and won the grand prize at the Jeonju Youth Dance Competition, where he was scouted by a Pledis Entertainment representative in 2012. He trained for three years before debuting, ultimately joining SEVENTEEN’s Performance Team.
Rise With SEVENTEEN
Dino debuted with SEVENTEEN on May 26, 2015, becoming the group’s maknae at just sixteen years old. As main dancer, he has choreographed several of SEVENTEEN’s songs himself, including tracks performed on the reality series Going Seventeen. His long-running self-choreographed video series, Danceology, launched in 2018 and has become a fan-favorite showcase of his range across genres and styles.
Solo Career and Milestones
Dino released early mixtapes “0 (ZERO)” and “The Real Thing” in 2017, followed by the self-penned single “High-Five” in 2022. His official solo debut mixtape, “Wait,” arrived on November 27, 2023, quickly topping iTunes song charts in more than twenty countries. He also lent his voice to the OST for the drama Castaway Diva with “Icarus,” and in 2025 performed the Esports World Cup’s official anthem, “Til My Fingers Bleed,” alongside Duckwrth and The Word Alive.
Personality and Fan Love
Known for nicknames like “Maknae On Top” and his comedic alter ego “Pi Cheol-in,” Dino balances relentless discipline with a playful, broadcast-savvy personality that CARATs adore. As SEVENTEEN’s youngest member continues to mature into one of the group’s creative leaders, Dino’s journey from a dance-competition win to international solo stages exemplifies the group’s philosophy that every member can shine individually while thriving as one team.
