Eunji is the powerhouse main vocalist of Apink and one of K-pop's most respected singer-actresses, known for a voice fans and fellow idols alike have long praised. Born Jung Hye-rim on August 18, 1993, in Haeundae, Busan, she legally changed her name to Jung Eun-ji before debuting with Apink on April 19, 2011, after training for barely two months. As the group's main vocalist and face of the group, Eunji has carried lead vocals on hits from "NoNoNo" to "LUV" alongside members Chorong, Bomi, Namjoo, and Hayoung. Beyond music, she built a celebrated acting career, breaking through with her lead role in "Reply 1997," which earned her the Baeksang Arts Award for Best New Actress, and going on to star in dramas like "That Winter, the Wind Blows," "Trot Lovers," "Cheer Up!," "Work Later, Drink Now," and "Miss Night and Day." In 2016 she launched a solo music career with the self-written EP "Dream" and its chart-topping title track "Hopefully Sky," followed by a second EP, "The Space," in 2017. Known affectionately as the "Happy Virus" for her infectious energy, Eunji has also built a strong variety-show presence, appearing regularly on "Running Man" and hosting her own radio program. In 2025, after fourteen years with her original agency, she signed with BILLIONS Entertainment while confirming she would continue promoting alongside her Apink members. With acting awards, a loyal solo fanbase, and a leading role in Apink's fifteenth-anniversary comeback in 2026, Eunji remains one of the most versatile and enduring talents to come out of the K-pop industry's second generation.

Celebrated for her powerful voice and warm personality, Eunji has built parallel careers in music and acting that have made her one of the most well-rounded idols of her generation.

Early Life

Eunji was born in Haeundae, Busan, and attended Shinjae Elementary School, Jaesong Girls’ Middle School, and Busan Hyehwa Girls’ High School. She has a younger brother, Jung Min-ki. Solo Music Career

In April 2016, Eunji launched her solo career with the EP Dream, writing the lyrics to its title track “Hopefully Sky” herself. The song topped multiple Korean charts and became one of the year’s best-selling digital singles. She followed up with a second EP, The Space, in 2017, and held her debut solo concert, “Attic,” the same year.

Recent Activities

After fourteen years with her longtime agency, Eunji ended her contract with IST Entertainment in May 2025 and signed with BILLIONS Entertainment, while confirming she would continue to promote as part of Apink. In 2026, she reunited with her fellow members for Apink’s 15th anniversary comeback with the EP Re : Love.
