Rami

Rami is the main vocalist of BABYMONSTER, the seven-member South Korean girl group signed to YG Entertainment. Born Shin Haram in Seoul, South Korea, she was the very first member revealed to the public when YG began teasing the group in early 2023, and her powerful, emotive voice has made her one of the act’s signature vocal colors ever since.

Before joining YG, Rami spent years as a child model, working in front of cameras from as young as age two. She joined the agency around 2018 and trained for roughly five to six years, attending Hanlim Multi Art School alongside fellow member Ahyeon. YG introduced her — still under her birth name Haram — as BABYMONSTER’s first confirmed member on January 12, 2023, through a live performance video. She later changed her stage name to Rami ahead of the group’s debut.

Rami debuted with the six-member digital single “Batter Up” in November 2023, and stood out immediately for her live vocal cover of Lee Hi’s “For You,” which became one of BABYMONSTER’s fastest individual clips to rack up views. She went on to make her full seven-member debut on April 1, 2024 with BABYMONS7ER, taking main vocal duties on tracks like “Sheesh” and “Stuck in the Middle.”

Her voice has continued to anchor the group’s biggest releases, including the 2024 studio album DRIP, whose title track was co-written by G-Dragon. In May 2025, YG Entertainment announced that Rami would take a temporary hiatus due to health concerns, later reported to involve a collapsed lung (pneumothorax). As a result, she sat out much of BABYMONSTER’s 2025 activities, including part of their Hello Monsters world tour and the group’s second EP, WE GO UP.

Offstage, Rami is often described by members as mature beyond her years — she’s been nicknamed the group’s “little granny” for her calm, grounded personality. She names BLACKPINK’s Rosé and AKMU’s Lee Suhyun as her vocal role models, and she’s known for a good-natured love of Sanrio characters, mint chocolate ice cream, and casual singing in her free time.
