Pharita is a Thai K-pop idol and a member of YG Entertainment’s girl group BABYMONSTER, where she holds the roles of Lead Vocalist, Main Visual, and English Spokesperson. Born Pharita Boonpakdeethaveeyod (legally Pharita Chaikong) on August 26, 2005, in Bangkok, Thailand, she’s become one of the group’s most recognizable faces — and, according to YG’s former CEO, someone who looks like she “came straight out of a Disney movie.”

From Child Model to Trainee: Pharita’s Path to BABYMONSTER

Long before she was an idol, Pharita was already in front of cameras. She started out as a child model in Thailand, winning the grand prize and first place at Inter Model Thailand and picking up several other pageant titles along the way, including a spot voted “Miss Teen Thailand.” In 2020, she competed on the Thai survival show Idol Paradise under the stage name “Pear,” though she left before the show officially aired.

That same year, she auditioned for YG Entertainment — performing BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” — and stood out among 1,226 applicants to earn her spot as a trainee. She trained for roughly two and a half to four years before debuting, developing both her vocal technique and her English communication skills, which is exactly why she now serves as BABYMONSTER’s English spokesperson.

Debuting as BABYMONSTER’s Sixth Member

YG revealed Pharita as BABYMONSTER’s sixth member on February 2, 2023, with a live cover performance of “What Other People Say.” She debuted with the group’s pre-debut single “BATTER UP” in November 2023, and her viral line “Remember me, sting like a bee” quickly caught fans’ attention online. She completed the group’s full seven-member lineup on April 1, 2024, with the release of BABYMONS7ER.

On stage, Pharita’s dance style leans toward soft precision rather than raw power — subtle body waves and controlled movement that still land with intention. Vocally, she’s known for a clear, emotive tone, and her cover of “Bleeding Love” is often cited by fans as proof of just how much range she has.

Personality and Life Outside the Spotlight

Pharita studied at Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, which explains her fluency in Thai, English, and Korean (with some understanding of Spanish too). She’s known among fans as “Look Pear,” a nickname that’s stuck with her since childhood, and she’s often described as quietly curious — the kind of person who becomes more interesting to fans the longer they follow her.

She’s close friends with BLACKPINK’s Lisa, who has mentioned Pharita in interviews and even shared a meal with her and fellow member Chiquita before their debut.
