Who Is Kwak YeonJi?

Kwak YeonJi (곽연지), promoting simply as YeonJi, is the lead dancer and sub-vocalist of tripleS, the 24-member K-pop girl group under MODHAUS that’s redefined what a fan-participation idol act can look like. Born on January 8, 2008, in Seoul, South Korea, YeonJi was tripleS’s maknae for over a year, and she’s since grown into one of the group’s most energetic and easily recognizable personalities.

Becoming tripleS’s Twelfth Member

YeonJi was introduced as tripleS’s twelfth revealed member — S12 — on January 18, 2023, entering as the group’s youngest member at the time. She made her idol debut on October 11, 2023, as part of the fourth sub-unit, EVOLution, on the mini album alongside its title track “Invincible.” When tripleS finally completed its full 24-member roster, YeonJi joined the historic comeback ASSEMBLE24 in May 2024, cementing her spot within one of K-pop’s most ambitious rosters.

Dancing Through tripleS’s Dimensions

Since her debut, YeonJi has continued rotating through tripleS’s shifting “Dimensions.” She joined the twelve-member, dance-forward sub-unit Visionary Vision for its 2024 studio album Performante, and in late 2025 she became part of Zenith, one of four new units launched under the joint msnz sub-unit universe alongside the mini album Beyond Beauty. Her royal blue representative color and duck emoji have become instantly recognizable to WAV, tripleS’s global fandom, who consistently praise her sharp, confident choreography.

The Group’s Resident “Yapper”

Ask her fellow members, and they’ll tell you YeonJi is one of the loudest, most talkative people in tripleS — a title she wears proudly. That same energy shows up in her long-running passion for video editing; she’s been recording and cutting clips since elementary school, once serving as her school’s broadcasting club cameraman and editor. She’s also a trained pianist, having studied the instrument since she was seven, and she brings that same discipline to her dance training today.

Life Off Stage

Outside of tripleS’s packed schedule, YeonJi is a self-professed hip-hop and rap enthusiast with a bold, baggy sense of style. She loves kimbap, tteokbokki, ice cream, and mint chocolate, and she keeps a pet dog named Haedol at home. She’s especially close to member Kotone, a bond formed while the two were the only tripleS members living in the group’s Tokyo HAUS.
